If some rail ties can make history, why not a cup of coffee?

Hi! I’m Grace, Jim is my husband. Welcome to The O&A Coffee Car! We are thrilled to introduce you to some amazing Coffee and Tea! I’m not typically a tea drinker, but the tea from Lake Missoula Tea Co. has me considering conversion; but don’t worry! I’m a staunch coffee drinker, I won’t be converting. Jim wasn’t a fan of coffee at all. And I really mean “at all.” It took a very special bean to help him see the light. Ya’ll, I laughed when, only a few days in, he was restless at night because of his excitement at the thought of getting an amazing cup of coffee in the morning! I credit Aperture Coffee for helping me bring this heathen into the fold.

There are so many reasons why we wanted to open the O&A Coffee Car. I’m really struggling to pin-point just one. I think the most important is our love of quality coffee and tea that is in convenient access in town. Once we found delicious coffee and tea, we desperately wanted to share it with all our friends, which is almost all of Culpeper. But here’s the thing- atmosphere’s expensive. We don’t have that kind of capital. Thus, we are starting small!

TL;DR, sorry! To be brief, we have amazing caffeinated (and non-caffeinated ) brews with a convenient drive-up window. Come enjoy a cup of goodness with us.

Culpeper History

On the Rails…

The Orange & Alexandria Railroad, also known as the O&A Railroad, was the original railroad built in Culpeper, connecting Alexandria to Orange. It connected with Virginia Central Railroad in Orange, making Richmond accessible to Culpeper. This made Culpeper an important town for not only war strategy during the Civil War, but also for trading. Today, stretches of the original railroad are still in use, owned by Southern Railway.
